Kanske världens häftigaste 8-bits dator?
Riktig smaskig maskin, i olika utförande. Kan även köra C64 läge och ja ..
 
2 cpu:er:  8500 (egentligen samma sak som 6510, men klarar 2Mhz) och Z80 på 2Mhz<BR />
2 grafikchip: VIC-II och VDC
 
Maskinen kan startas i olika lägen:<BR />
C128-VIC-läge: 128kb ram, 1Mhz 8500 cpu, BASIC 7.0, 40 kolumner text<BR />
C128-VDC-läge: 128kb ram, 2Mhz 8500 cpu, BASIC 7.0, 80 kolumner text<BR />
C64-läge (som en c64)
 
Om du sätter i en cartridge typ The Final Cartridge eller Action Replay, kommer datorn alltid att starta i C64-läge.
 
Med en speciell bootdiskett kan datorn också starta operativsystemet CP/M, som körs på Z80-processorn.
 
Förutom modellen C128, som har tangentbord och dator sammanbyggt, finns även modellen C128D (i 2 olika varianter)
C128D har ett separat tangentbord och en inbyggd diskdrive. Diskdriven är i princip en 1571 5.25" drive.
 
C128D har ett skal av plåt. Det finns även en variant C128D "CR", cost reduced, som har ett skal av plast, bärhandtag och fläkt.
 
Både C128D och D "CR" har inbyggd strömförsörjning, medan C128 har en separat kloss (som faktiskt ser ut som en A500-nätdel utvändigt, men det är det definitivt inte!)
